Existing Log Home In KS
« on: Oct 10th, 2007, 10:54pm »

I am thinking of buying a existing log home in Kansas, but there is log rot damage on one end of the house. I believe the house was built in 1983 and is in otherwise in good condition.

My questions are: how can the water damage be fixed, how long would it take (there are approximately 5-6 logs {6X8" D shaped} and approx 20ft in length with two windows set evenly spaced on one end of the house that have rotting, and i'm un-sure as to how deep the wood is rotted except that the logs sound solid when tap tested from inside the house), a ballpark on what kind of money it would cost, and most importantly....who could I get to do something like this in this area?

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated Thanks in Advance,
